CORN DAY!

The day before our Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the first graders celebrated "Corn Day!" It was a day full of activities centered around CORN of course! They rotated to different stations where they were able to do such things as "plant corn" and "make a corn pattern." Here is Brandon and Sarah having a great time. They wore Target bags on their backs like a backpack so they could put all their creations in them.

Here is Brandon with the corn he planted. We will have to wait and see if it grows! ;)
I was busy teaching fourth grade that day but I was able to sneak out and snap a few pictures of this cute clan! I just love my little man right in the middle of all his friends! I could tell that these first graders had a great time learning about corn and celebrating the day. :)
These little turkeys are going to be the kids place settings at our Thanksgiving dinner. I wanted to make enough for all of Brandon's classmates but these five took up too much time! Gobble Gobble!

A Spook-tacular Night!

Our Halloween was filled with many treats this year. We spent the whole day and night at Papa John and Nana's house in Newport. We had the best time! Above is Mr. Jack-o-Happy. Brandon designed the face and I did the carving. After looking at it for one second he said, "He looks great! Let's call him Jack-o-Happy!"

Brandon and his puppy had matching Batman costumes.
Brandon was not too sure about my black lipstick and heavy eye make-up. After a while he came around though and told me he thought I was a pretty cool witch.
Papa John the bat! Love it!

Trick-or-treating was awesome. All the decorations were so spooky and fun.

Here is all the loot!
Cavities here we come! ;)
BEAUTIFUL Nana and cute kids, all in bone P.J's!
