First Day Of First Grade!

Well I can't believe it. The day has finally come. My little Brandon completed his first day of first grade. This is my very first experience with ALL DAY school and I was quite nervous about it. Pictured above is what my little man chose to have for breakfast on this very special day. A smoothie and cinnamon roll-which he took all of one sip and one bite of! I think he was a bit nervous too! Here he is right before we left the house.
Brandon at his desk! So fun to have your own desk for the first time!

Mrs. Hansen and Brandon.
New backpack!
Cousin power! They are in the same class... AGAIN! Yahoo! Okay and could London's outfit be any cuter?? I love it!
Brandon has lots of friends from kindergarten in his class.
I had to go find him on the playground at recess...and at lunch. All of the teachers kept telling me to leave and go home, that he would be fine. (of course they were just teasing me) Good thing I work as a sub there and feel very comfortable to stay on campus as long as I want!! ;)
He had a GREAT first day. I asked him how it all went and the first thing he said was "I love school!" Boy, that sure makes a mom happy.

Fluffy

A small and very cute addition was made to our little family more than a week ago. Fluffy is Brandon's new Guinea pig and he loves him to pieces!

Cousin Lily got one too! She named her new pet "Penny." They are both so stinkin cute!

Penny and Fluffy. CUTEST PETS EVER! Thank you Nana. ;)

more fun summer stuff

Brandon and Lily love to feed the fish with their Nana.
Thank you Aunt Angie for the fabulous hair style!

Playing DSI in his favorite chair at Panera Bread.
Top down at the beach. Nothing better. :)
Thank you Uncle Greg for the awesome kite!

All ready to go Kayaking!
These kids are always in the pool. Our summer is almost over but it has been a blast!

Fourth of July and Arizona Trip!

We had a fantastic Fourth of July! Here is Brandon on a boat ride. Newport Beach was PACKED that weekend! Apparently everyone else knows how fun it is to spend the 4th on the water!
Here is Brandon on his decorated bike. Every year the residents of Balboa Peninsula have a little parade and anyone can join in the fun. That thing on his nose is a red jewel. He wanted to wear it in the parade. Should I be scared?
After the parade everyone had a BBQ in the park. We spent the day just hanging out on the beach with friends and family. (Julie and John were here for the weekend so that made it EXTRA fun!) That night we took a boat ride and saw fireworks over the water. Our little boat almost ran out of power, so it made for an interesting and very exciting night!
Playing his DSI. His favorite toy in the world.
Brandon and I spent a week in Arizona so that he could get in some good quality time with his dad. We were able to see our friends Amanda and Oliver a few times while there. Brandon and Oliver have such a great time together.

We saw some ducks at the park and decided that they needed some goldfish crackers. They loved 'em!
Amanda was brave! Those ducks were eating right out of her hand!
We saw a "Desert Animals" show at the library. It was GREAT! Brandon liked the big turtle but not the tarantula or scorpions.
While we stayed at John and Julie's for the week, we decided to use their amazing blender. I took Brandon to the store and told him he could pick out a few candies and then we would make shakes with them. He chose Swedish Fish, Starburst, M&M's, Kit Kat and Gummie Bears. I couldn't believe that Julie's blender actually could blend up all those candies. That is one fantastic blender! Brandon had a great time tasting all the different shakes. His favorite was the Swedish Fish shake. ;)

What has Brandon been up to?

He has been spending countless hours in the pool and sprinklers,
having fun days at the park,
enjoying the Monrovia Street Fair,

spending time with family,
hanging out with Lily at build-a-bear,

and eating lots of yummy treats! That is what this six year old has been doing for the past couple weeks. WE LOVE SUMMER! :)
