party time!

Brandon has the sweetest friends. Two of his cute little friends had birthday parties this weekend and we were lucky enough to be invited. He had such a fun time at Cole's LEGO party. They got to build their own car/truck and race it down a long ramp. It was little boy heaven! His finished product.
The birthday boy Cole. What a stinkin' cutie! I just love him.

The whole gang getting ready to race their creation!

The next day we went to Christian's party. The bouncer was super fun! It even had a huge slide. Brandon and the birthday boy Christian. What a great weekend!

so lucky...

Tonight as I was putting Brandon to bed, he reached over and touched my face and said, "You are so important." It simply melted my heart. I feel so lucky to be his mother.

kindergarten program

Each year the kindergarten classes at Sumner-Danbury do a special program where they sing songs they have learned throughout the year. Brandon and London were lucky enough to be chosen to each sing small solo pieces from the song entitled "I Think You're wonderful." Only four of the 95 kindergarten friends had this privilege. We were VERY excited! The morning of the big show we had a walking fieldtrip to the Alexander Hughes Community Center, where the students did a run through of the show. Here are the cuties getting ready to warm up their pipes. ;)

Showtime! Here they are again, all dolled up and ready to shine like the stars they are.

Christian, Brandon, London and Sarah. Great pals!

They had props to use when they sang the "Color Songs." Brandon had a Jack-O-Lantern for the color orange and London had a leaf for the color brown.

They did such an amazing job. I couldn't believe the confidence. ;) Their voices were beautiful. Most definitely one of the proudest moments of my life as a mom. Brandon and London YOU TWO are WONDERFUL!

Oops!.

Wow! I just read some of my past posts and realized that I cannot spell worth a darn! Apparently that "spellcheck" button would do me some good. I will be faithfully using this neglected feature from now on! ;) (And to think that I am a teacher! How completely embarrassing.)

His "best day ever!"

I decided to be super spontaneous and take Brandon to California Adventure and Disneyland at 6:00pm. We stopped by McDonald's to get mommy a drink and Brandon begged for some "dippin dots." Well, he got what he wanted, and enjoyed every last dot. After that we continued on our way to the parks. It ended up being a very fun and very special night for just the two of us. Brandon's only ride request was the Toy Story ride. It was AN HOUR wait! Yikes!
After Toy Story, we explored "A Bug's Land" and hit three rides there. We ended our night with a Dole Pinapple frozen yogurt thingy from inside Disneyland. The fireworks were just starting at that time and so it ended up being the longest and slowest walk, espeically because I was carrying him the entire way! Man did he have a great night! He kept telling me, "Mom, this was my best day ever!" Needless to say, I got lots of kisses and hugs that night. ;)

Rocket Time!

Brandon's friend Oliver, and his mommy Amanda, came out from Arizona to hang with us during their spring break. The boys had a fantastic time together playing at the beach.

Amanda had the brilliant idea to buy a rocket for us to build all together. However, the mommy's ended up doing the building (which was way fun!) and the boys got to decorate it. That IS the most important job anyway...right?!

Ready to launch!

Brandon actually caught it once as it came down! So fun!
Thanks Amanda for the great few days! Brandon LOVES rockets now because of you! ;)

Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

For weeks and weeks now, Brandon and all of the cuties in his kindergarten class have been working hard on a very special book. It is entitled "My Brown Bear Book" and it's by far my favorite piece of work he has done to date. As you can see from the front cover, this "Brown Bear" book will be cherished FOREVER!
On "Authors Day," the kindergarten friends had the opportunity to read their books to students from all different grade levels. It was priceless.

This is London's front cover. Just beautiful!
I love this pose ;)
