Brandon's trip to Utah!

Brandon had a fantastic trip to Utah last weekend. Papa John and Nana took Brandon and I to Salt Lake City for a fun filled five days. It was a blast! Here is my little traveler and his amazing grandparents, all ready to go!
Ticket in hand. :)
The airplane ride was so much fun! He thought the best part of the flight was getting to order his very own Sprite!
While we were in Utah Nana and Brandon spent a TON of time together! They had the best time just hanging out playing Chinese Checkers, Uno and Star Wars card games. Nana took him to the Discovery Science Center and he LOVED it! Here they are watching the water show at Gateway.
Sam and Savannah came over to Papa John's condo (where we spent our five fabulous days of fun), and had a sleepover. They went to Build-A-Bear and each got something new. Brandon's zebra "Stripes" is a great addition to his growing stuffed animal collection. :) It was a night of giggles and wiggles and very little sleep!
We did a whole lot of shopping while in Utah and cutie Brandon was a GREAT sport! That's my guy! Stripes was pretty good too!

Here he is in the hallway of the condo's. He loved to run down to the elevator and be the first one to push the button. He had the special job of scanning the "key" that allowed us to use the elevator. He got very good at this!

We went to the Hogle Zoo on our last day in SLC. It is a great little zoo with tons of fun animals to see. Brandon said he loved the Meercats the best.

Brandon requested to sit next to his Nana for both airplane rides. He loves her so much. They have a very special relationship that I am incredibly grateful for. Mom thank you, thank you, for making this trip just AMAZING for Brandon and I. We had the best time. Papa John, thank you for allowing us to tag along and for putting up with us and all of our noise! WE LOVE YOU!! Let's do it again really soon!

Who knew?

Everyday since Brandon began this wonderful adventure we call Kindergarten, I have written him a note and included it in his lunchbox. These notes are very short and to the point. They say things such as, "Have a wonderful day!" and "Hope you learn a bunch in school today!" They have evolved over time to now begin with, "Hey there little _________!" I fill in that blank with everything thing from "cupcake" to "toothbrush," whatever comes to me that morning. I get as silly as possible because as I'm sure you know, with a 5 year old, the sillier the better! They open up to say "I love you, love mommy." Brandon adores these notes and they have become so important to him. He does not ever want to buy "hot lunch" at school and when I asked him why, his response was "If I buy my lunch, then I won't get one of your notes." How sweet is that? I had no clue that this little tradition started back in September meant so much to my sweetie. Who knew it would end up being such a great thing?? Not me. :)

Spring Break and Easter

We had the most wonderful spring break. Brandon really enjoyed going to the IMAX theater to see Monsters Vs. Aliens with his mommy, his teacher Mrs. K and her cute boys. What teacher wants to spend time with one of her students on spring break? Only the BEST teacher EVER! :) After the movie, we ate at the Rainforest Cafe. Super fun day!
On Wednesday we went to Pump It Up for some bouncin' fun. This place is awesome! We loved it so much we decided to have Brandon's 6th birthday party there. He can't wait!

On Friday Brandon taught Lily how to color eggs. It was a messy learning process...but way fun. ;) Brandon is a fantastic teacher!

On Sunday Brandon woke to find that the the Easter bunny had left him some great stuff! His favorite thing was the cotton candy. Delicious.

Here is my cutie finding eggs in our backyard. That bunny was tricky, but Brandon did some good hunting and found all the eggs!
His Storm Trooper Easter basket made the egg hunt that much more fun. ;)
We ended our spring break and Easter Sunday at the beach with our family. There is no better place on earth.

Easter Fun!

On the last day before spring break, the kindergarten friends had a special visitor...yes, that's right, the Easter bunny! The person that was going to be the bunny could not make it so I had the privilege of playing Mrs. Bunny! It was fun, but very very hot in that furry costume. The kids had a great time getting their picture taken with this egg-stra special friend. I told Brandon that I was going to be the bunny ahead of time, so when he was near me he kept looking into the eyes, trying to see me. It was really funny! ;)

You can see Brandon trying to see me!
I made some cookies for Brandon's class and the teachers.

The next day we had our first egg hunt of the season. Mrs. K invited us to her home owners associations annual egg hunt, and it was a blast. Here is Brandon and his classmate, Reid.

Brandon and Jacob.

Each child was able to collect 12 eggs. Here is my cutie with his dozen!
Even the Easter bunny showed up! What a freakishly scary bunny! Yikes! Good thing we knew who was inside! ;) No offense Denise... I know you did your best!

party time!

Brandon has the sweetest friends. Two of his cute little friends had birthday parties this weekend and we were lucky enough to be invited. He had such a fun time at Cole's LEGO party. They got to build their own car/truck and race it down a long ramp. It was little boy heaven! His finished product.
The birthday boy Cole. What a stinkin' cutie! I just love him.

The whole gang getting ready to race their creation!

The next day we went to Christian's party. The bouncer was super fun! It even had a huge slide. Brandon and the birthday boy Christian. What a great weekend!

so lucky...

Tonight as I was putting Brandon to bed, he reached over and touched my face and said, "You are so important." It simply melted my heart. I feel so lucky to be his mother.
